Card Candy – Shaker Cards

HI everyone its Kim Jeffress here with 2 new cards to share. My sister is getting married this coming weekend so I needed a quick and easy but elegant  wedding card for the big day. With that in mind I ended up making two cards so I had the option to choose. One thing you will notice on both cards is they both have shaker boxes on the front, its one of my favourite ways to embellish my cards.

The first card “Once Upon A Time” starts with a base of White Orange peel cardstock. To determine the size I laid that Heidi Swapp Clear Project Life card onto the cardstock and trimmed the height . I then placed it on my scoreboard and scored the spine of the card next to the PL card, folded it in half and trimmed off the excess.

I added some foam tape around the under edge of the clear window then added one of the new Hello Beautiful stickers to the white cardstock. Finally I poured  some chunky glitter to the centre of the card and then adhered the Clear PL card to my card base.

My next card starts with a base of Fourz Mauve Ice  cardstock which I teamed with some Heidi Swapp Wanderlust pattern paper. I then nipped a small slit at the fold of card and threaded through some white seam binding and tied a bow. This time I started my shaker box with one of the Heidi Swapp Wanderlust Window slides, added some foam tape around the underside edge, poured some glitter onto the window then laid some pattern paper trimmed to size to form the back of the shaker frame. I simply adhered the shaker box to my card with the Bazzill Marathon Runner and added a gold chipboard embellishment to complete.
