Project of the Week

Hey girlfriend by Heidi Lynn Schreiber
What a fun layout! There is so much going on in the background but you can’t keep from smiling at the photos of that adorable baby girl! Take a closer look and see that flourishes become tree branches and a floral patterned paper becomes a wing for a chubby little birdie. Heidi Lynn Schreiber chose to treat each photo differently by matting one with cardstock and lining one side of the other with some cute pom-poms.

The random pattern of the printed paper in this layout by Pam Black made it really fun to add different fonts and colors of text to the journaling square. The variety of ribbon styles and colors is another fun way to play around with the pattern from the paper. (Note how simple it is to just tie a knot and add it to the layout with just a glue dot!)

All together by Jennifer Wagner

This layout by Jennifer Wagner shows how you can take three different printed papers and make them all look fabulous together. Check out how she used the big fabric flower to echo the flower in one of the papers. Folding the flower in half and securing it with a Paper Brad, keeps it from dominating the entire layout.

Celebrate by Joey Otlo

Pack your camera along with you on Friday and take a minute to shoot a few great photos this Fourth of July. This layout is super-duper easy. Notice how Joey Otlo use simple blocks of cardstock to create a background for the layout. The embellishments are really simple, too. How cute is the ribbon? Fold a 4″ piece of ribbon in half and staple it to the page to create little flags. Use long strips of ribbon as a border… oh, ribbon can be fun and Bazzill has some cute colors!
