Today I wanted to share a quick trick for getting an embossed border on the side of your layout while making it look like it was naturally there.
I started with my base cardstock some Bazzill White cardstock and laid out my matching Sunshine pattern paper from We R Memory Keepers
I then grabbed another piece of Bazzill White cardstock and trimmed it to size ( you could make this any size you liked) and laid down my Darice Flower Frenzy Border Embossing folder along the edge of this cardstock and embossed the edge. Next I ran this piece of cardstock through my typewriter to add my journaling. To match the roses in the Roses pattern paper from We R Memory Keepers I also die cut the Rose Shaped Die in White Bazzill and laid that over the embossed pattern.
I then adhered this piece to my base cardstock and added another embossed piece of cardstock – Turquoise Mist from the Fourz collection next to it. I had previously embossed this cardstock with the Script embossing folder from We R Memory Keepers. I laid some pattern paper on each end to disguise the joins so now the embossed edge looks like it was originally on the cardstock.
I added my title the Chipboard Glitter word and added some pretty chipboard shapes from Heidi Swapp to embellish this area of my layout.
To complete I added another Die Cut Rose layered with foam tape to create some texture and some stamping using the Heidi Swapp Project Life clear stamps. Finally I added some Black Velvet Color Shine splashes for a finishing touch.
