I can’t keep plants alive. Not even a cactus. STAMPS, however, combined with beautiful Bazzill Basics cardstock colors and a few markers to add depth and dimension? Now, those are my kinds of plants! It is so easy to make a simple stamp shine using great colored cardstock and a couple of markers!
For these two cards I reached for a single stamp set, a couple of my favorite basic sheets of Bazzill Basics paper, and a gorgeous green that became the star of the show with the help of an alcohol marker or two.
For the first card, I stamped the cacti on sheet of Kiwi Crush and then used markers to add just a touch of dimension to the stamped image. I fussy cut both images. I then stamped the cacti again on the white panel before adhering the fussy cut images in place. This kept those prickly stickers fully visible on the finished card.
I stamped one of the pots on some patterned paper and the other on white cardstock before fussy cutting and adhering with foam tape. The flower is stamped and added with foam tape, as well.
The second card uses one cactus with a lot of fun height and shape! I accented this with markers, as well, and then adhered the lower part with tape runner and the upper parts with foam tape for added dimension. This is a fun trick to use for stamped images on cards! The pot is then stamped, fussy cut, and added with foam tape, as well as the flower!
Creating fabulous cards is easy to do with some great cardstock and a fun set of stamps! Now, go ahead… hug your favorite cactus!
