Hello! This is Jennifer Ingle and I am so excited to be joining the Bazzill Basics Design Team! I absolutely love the quality and variety of product Bazzill offers and am thrilled for this opportunity to share what I love with all of you. I have been crafting since I was able to fold paper and hold a crayon. I love working with paper, but also sometimes dabble in mixed media, clay, and assemblage. I live in the Boston area with my wonderful husband and our sweet black lab, Maggie. You can find me on my blog, Just Jingle and on Instagram under the same name. Now let’s get to my first project!
When creating a 3-D gift it is easy to incorporate an element from that gift into a card for a fun, coordinating ensemble. Using Dotted Swiss cardstock and the new Kraft Foil Star cardstock from Bazzill Basics, you can create this candy dispenser with a pinwheel on top along with a pinwheel accented card.
To create the pinwheels, cut 2 1/2″ squares for the three you will use on the card and a 4″ square for the pinwheel on the candy dispenser. Simply cut from each corner toward the center, leaving the center in tact, then fold the points in and secure with a brad.
Add a paper straw to the back of the larger pinwheel to be inserted into the top of the candy dispenser. This gives SUCH a fun, playful look.
After assembling the candy dispenser fill it with something yummy! I chose some coordinating jelly beans. The little dispenser can be closed up for gifting, as well.
I secured the three pinwheels onto a strip of the Kraft Foil star paper. If you wanted them to spin, you could secure the brads through the paper, keeping them loose enough for movement. A simple stamped sentiment finishes off the card nicely!
This project is a ton of fun to create and comes together rather quickly. Using these accented papers (Dotted Swiss and Kraft Foil Stars) makes it easy, as the papers do all the work for you! Thank you for stopping by!
