Honestly, most years on Mother’s Day, I hardly take any photos, if at all! I’m too busy enjoying my day with my children! But when it comes time to scrapbooking with a Mother’s Day theme, I have no shortage of stories to tell! I had a few photos of my boys together that I wanted to scrapbook so I put together a layout with a focus on becoming a mother to boys!
I printed my photos in 3 inch squares and made a grid-style layout, with my title being the main design element. For my title, I used my Silhouette to cut the letters onto 3 inch cardstock squares and backed them with the fun Ombre cardstock. The ombre effect is subtle being in such a small space, but I love the look!
I added patterned paper to a few squares and also a super-fun shaker style pocket to one, as you can see in the photo above! I used my We R Memory Keeper Fuse tool and added coordinating confetti and a few sequins to the shaker!
I then decided to get a bit creative with my Bazzill Basics cardstock for the remaining couple of squares. In the top right corner I again used the Ombre cardstock to create a layered fringe effect. So quick and easy and looks great!
And in the bottom left corner I added subtle dimension and interest with a stencil and texture paste! Of course no layout of mine would be complete without a few splashes of mist and some machine stitching!
Every time I create a grid-style layout, I’m reminded of how much I love this design! It’s perfect for playing with techniques in the smaller spaces!
And if you’re celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend, enjoy your day!
