One of my favorite DIY home projects for any season is altering a photo frame.
Since I seem to have few summer décor items around, I thought it was time to design something to brighten up our home. This frame comes together very quickly because let’s face it…I am not inside crafting at this time of year unless it’s raining!
I have a few cheap plastic dollar store photo frames on hand, and this one is 4″ x 6″. I cut a piece of Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss patterned paper that size to fit inside the plastic.
Then I cut a 6″ x 6″ piece of Double Thick White cardstock and embossed it with a wood grain We R Memory Keepers embossing folder using the Evolution. The Double Thick White cardstock is a nice heavy weight that works well for creating a sturdy frame.
I added a butterfly to the center, which I cut with my Brother ScanNCut, but you could use any electronic cutting machine or punch or die cut. I love the bright, summery color of Limeade cardstock!
It’s easy to bring some sunshine into your home by creating a shadow box frame just like this!
