Yay! It’s party week on the Bazzill blog and I’m kicking off with couple of fun party decor ideas that are fast, easy and can be customized to suit any party!
My youngest is turning two in just a couple of weeks so I thought I’d get a headstart on couple of items to make his day extra special! The great thing about creating party decor with Bazzill Basics Cardstock is the COLORS! So many beautiful colors but I tend to spend a few minutes browsing color combinations on Pinterest to choose one that will be perfect for the occassion!
Once I’ve chosen a color scheme, it’s as easy as pulling out a few sheets of Bazzill in those colors, as well as a couple of other supplies and getting crafty!
I first created a little party hat for the birthday boy. A quick search online and I found a template that I traced and cut from white cardstock. I then decorated the hat with punched cardstock circles in my chosen colors as well as the number ‘2’. For a finishing touch, I used some of the Fringe Tape from We R Memory Keepers to create a fun edge along the bottom of the hat as well as a little tassel for the very top.
I then created a banner for the occasion – I cut the banner pieces in varying colors and shapes. To add more interest, I used an embossing folder on some and others I used the same punched circle design as I did on the hat.
My idea is to decorate his high chair for the big day, perfect for photos capturing him eating his birthday cake! I temporarily adhered the banner to the edge of the high chair tray, along with another banner of his name, created from die cut letters from my Pink Paislee. All I need now is to add presents and a birthday boy!
I can’t wait for his birthday now!
