I love a good holiday that gives me an excuse to shower everyone I know with cards. There are people I see every day and not all of them are happy. I am sure you know those kinds of people too. I made it a tradition that on every holiday that I give one particular person I know like this a handmade card or gift.
I was asked why I take the time to do something for someone who is so unkind. Well, I knew that if I showed this person love, possibly one day her heart would change. Besides, while I am making the card for her I am also continually thinking about her and that alone is an act of love.
For this non-traditional Valentine’s Day card, I used Pink Paislee’s Bella Rouge and matched it with some beautiful Bazzill cardstock – I chose Arroyo, Petunia, and Petalsoft. I also had to try out the NEW Light Pink Foil Board. So, after cutting out the bottom feathers in cardstock on my Silhouette, I ran We R Memory Keepers’s Feather Die with the Light Pink Foil Board. I had to add a shaft to the middle of the feather so I used my embossing board and a bone folder to run along the back of the die cut. I love the shine!
There is a happy ending to my story. After three years of holidays blessing this woman, every time I see her she is happy. Maybe her life is happier, I don’t know. I do know that the last time I gave her a card, she pulled me aside and hugged my neck to tell me how much it is appreciated. I would love to hear how your Valentines are touching the people around you too!
