Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I am loving my Bazzill Basics Cardstocks for creating Valentines! I recently discovered that Marshamallow Card Shoppe card stock and Distress Markers are a fantastic combination, and I have been going to TOWN with this combination! I love the results I get!
For this fun Valentine Card I began by stamping my images to create my little balloon wielding elephant. I used the MISTI to get proper alignment on my card.
Next, I used the Distress Markers to fill in just a few areas of my image and used a waterbrush to move the color throughout the image for my desired watercolor results. The paper stands up to water well and doesn’t pill up as long as you don’t go super crazy with tons of water. The cardstock allows for great blending! I love it!
Once my image was colored, I stamped the sentiment in black VersaFine ink for a nice, clean image. I used Copics to add some shading beneath my elephant to ground my image. Isn’t he just the sweetest thing?! I love him! I paired the cute image with the fabulous pink plaid cardstock from Bazzill Basics. I LOVE these plaids so much! They add just a bit of ‘extra’ and are perfect for card bases, as they are a nice, sturdy weight.
Finally, I mounted my card onto the base with the Bazzill Basics tape runner to complete my card. Add a few candies, and there you go! A perfect Valentine!
Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!
